Mandatory deposit before viva

The submission of dissertations to the UPPA libraries before the viva is mandatory. This applies to both first- and second-year master's students, whether in research or professional programs.

Here is a useful document about authors' rights and protection of personal data: Respecting copyright and protection of personal data.

How do I submit my dissertation ?

  • Send your dissertation by email to your designated librarian :list of designated librarians in PDF format
  • The dissertation must be submitted in PDF format only.
  • The anti-plagiarism charter must be submitted to your research director.
  • After submission, your dissertation is archived on CIME.

Is your file too voluminous ? Use https://filesender.renater.fr to host it and generate a temporary link. This link must be included in the email sent to your designated librarian to validate your submission.

Distribution terms and conditions

Unlike submission, the dissemination of the dissertation is not automatic but is subject to terms and conditions:

1) The student must give their consent, and the viva jury must give a favorable opinion through the  dissemination agreement.

2) The student must bring two signed copies of the dissemination agreement, previously read and signed, to the viva, even if they do not authorize the dissemination of their work.  After the viva, the student must send the signed agreement, in two original paper copies, to their designated librarian.

3) The student must comply with copyright law and personal data regulations. This includes obtaining the necessary permissions, particularly when reproducing or distributing someone's image or voice, via a permission form.

If these conditions are not met, the dissertation will only be archived on the local CIME platform and will not be available online.

If dissemination is approved, the thesis will be accessible in full text on cime.univ-pau.fr. Access to this service is restricted to the UPPA academic community.

Promotion of the best dissertations

Additionally, the best dissertations can be disseminated on the DUMAS national portal (UPPA collections).

This dissemination is subject to the same conditions as for CIME.
Theses available on DUMAS are accessible to all and available in full-text.
